Progress in the making

Slow and steady does not win. It does make Mike stay longer. Haha

New project

I am feeling overwhelmed with my new project. I missed for various reasons, and I need to make up some time. I thought bigger pieces would be easier to cut, but I am not sure. I know that if I do another piece this large, I would change the design. Once again this is a learning curve.

Patterns for WV Stained Glass Project

Patterns I have created for our project. My favorite is the bridge, but I let my students vote. And.....they picked the cardinal. I am excited to get started.

I think taking pictures of my piece is an excellent idea. After the class, it gives me an opportunity to reflect on how it looks. I can identify areas I need to evaluate when I come back to class. I can break from class and look with a clear mind after working and focusing. Sometimes things look different when you revisit them.

I enjoyed the class last night. I appreciate all the help people provided. The climate of the class is so positive. People can feel successful and get help when trouble arises. I am excited for next Wednesday. While looking online, I found free patterns. Picture from puffinpalooza.com

Week 2- Audioboo

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

My name is Heather Scarberry, and I teach third grade at Ona. I love the project based learning approach. While in this class, I hope to gain skills and ideas to use with my students.

I am not an artist by any stretch. My creative skills are limited to knitting, cross- stitch, quilting, and primitive crafts. I spend most of my winter making some type of craft. The most precious project is a quilt I made with my grandmother.

I am hoping that I can take pictures of stain glass when I go to Europe in April. I am excited to see the cathedrals and the artwork on our trip.
